Hello Zelda! Thank you for joining us today.
Hi there! You can call me Zell. It’s my new nickname. Pretty fantastic, huh? Zelda Finkelstein’s my full name, but I think Zell suits me just fine. Octogenarian, and proud of it! Especially when you consider the alternative. Just had a birthday. Now I’m the ripe young age of eighty. That mean’s I’ve tossed all my filters. All of ‘em. Bang. Bang. Watch out!
Embarking on these book club adventures must be a real experience!
You got that right, sister! Our book club is unique. We don’t just read mystery books around here. Ohh nooo. We get sucked right into the book! Yep! We get to find the dead body and figure out the mystery. Oh, don’t cringe. It’s kinda fun when you remember these folks are just characters in a book. Yeah, sure a few of the newbies in the group are a little freaked out about it, but I’ve been in the club a long time, so I always remember that our mission is to figure out who killed the unlucky character.
What happens if you can’t figure it out?
Let’s hope we can figure it out! Otherwise, we don’t get out of the book. We have to get to The End to go back home. Well, at least I think so. In the long history of the book club that’s how it’s worked, anyhow.
Where is your adventure in Vampires and Villains?
Proud to say I picked this book! Loved the setting – a massive, fancy cruise ship in the Hawaiian Islands! Okay, fine, so I didn’t read the whole blurb and didn’t know about the whole vampire thing. Not my fault! Okay, fine. It is my fault! But the club will have to admit the food aboard the ship is astronomical and the excursions are the best fun ever. Oh, the luau was a blast!
Sounds like a fun trip!
Yeppers! Even the vampires and the murder. Heehee.
Where does your next book club pick take you?
Ohhh! I have a special surprise planned for the group in that one! In Cowboys and Chaos, I convince them all to travel back to the Wild West in Arizona back in the 1800s. I planned the surprise, but there’s even something I didn’t know about – a wild, crazy plot twist! So much fun.
