Xstacy’s Confession... A Guest Post & Giveaway

I'm pleased to welcome Xstacy to the blog today. You can find Xstacy on the pages of Reason to Doubt by Nancy Cole Silverman. This book is the fifth book in the Carol Childs Mystery series and was released last week.

Xstacy’s Confession...

If I tell you what I know, you have to promise me you’ll not to tell anyone. My life and that of my best friend depend on it. There’s a serial killer who’s been stalking young models, and he’s been frequenting a strip club where we work. Don’t judge me, okay? I’m not a stripper. I serve cocktails, and most of the girls, the dancers anyway like my girlfriend Jewels, don’t do much more than gyrate on the stage to the music.

But people get the wrong idea. In fact, if they knew the truth, they’d know my girlfriend’s a college student. Get’s herself straight A’s, and the dancing helps to pays for her tuition. But that’s part of the secret. ‘Cause if the university found out what she was doing she’d lose her scholarship. And if this model slayer found out we were on to him – he’d kill us for sure.

I tried to tell the club. I told them I’d seen him flashing nude photos of the girls and bragging about it to one the guys sitting next to him one night. I figured I’d leave it up to them to tell the cops, ‘cause I didn’t want to. All they’d tell me was that I had probably imagined the whole thing. Okay, I can understand why. I don’t have the best reputation. I grew up on the streets and did what I needed to do to survive. Which is why, I like to stay clear of the cops. But I’m clean now, and I need this job. Most importantly, I don’t want anybody nosing around and finding out I carry a fake ID and that I’m really underage. Too young to be serving alcohol. If the club knew, they’d give me the boot. So when the club’s manager told me he wasn’t going to do anything about it, and this guy started hitting on Jewels, I decided right then I’d take care of the situation myself.

I waited until Jewels went out back for a smoke, and sure ‘nough, this creep followed her outside. I waited in my van until I knew he was alone with her, then floored it. Ran him down. Told Jewels to get lost, then called the police and told them I’d accidentally hit a man behind the Sky High Club where I work.

The police came, and just like I thought, took my confession. Saw I wasn’t drunk and figured the man I hit had been. That he had wandered into the alley where I accidentally hit him. I wasn’t charged, and everything would have been okay. Except for the fact the man I hit had a friend, and as I waited for the cops to arrive I saw him, and he saw me. I think he might have come after me right then if he hadn’t heard the police sirens. And now I’m afraid he’s trailing me.

It was Jewels who suggested I contact the radio station about the accident. She said if I didn’t want to talk to the cops, I should talk to a reporter. That they would protect me. Provided, that is, I told them what I knew about the man I had run over, how I knew he was the Model Slayer and asked that the reporter not use my name.

So that’s what I did. I met with Carol Childs, KTLK’s investigative reporter and told her my story. I’m not a hundred percent sure she believe me, but right now, she’s my only hope. I’m too afraid to go back to the club and I think I’m pretty sure I’m being followed.

  3. If you are a California resident you would know that serving alcohol to minors carry a penalty that can land you in a felony. The legal age to serve liquor here is 21 but most teens acquire fake ids and they are easily available on the internet the websites like fakeyourid.com has the new California fake license on the page fake California licenses and allows you to purchase it easily with a couple of hundred dollars. These will not only scan but get you into a bar or club.
