Wow. Just Wow. That’s what one reader said about book 7 of my Dreamwalker Mystery Series, All Done With It. Since I’m merely the lead character (Baxley Powell Mayes), I can’t take all the credit. Confession time: I’ve felt the same degree of wow ever since this series started.
Oh, what a journey this has been. Back at the beginning, I could scarcely pay my bills, didn’t believe the Army’s pronouncement that my missing husband Roland Powell was dead, and wouldn’t allow my extra talents to surface. So much has happened since then.
Gone and Done It blew all of my “givens” out of the water. Dad retired as the Dreamwalker because the job was quite literally killing him, and it was either my turn or my young daughter’s turn. I took the job and it’s a good thing I wasn’t vain because my hair turned white! Anyway, I learned how to use my paranormal side and figured out how to use that skillset for crime solving.
Bubba Done It made me run about like a headless chicken to figure out which Bubba killed the banker. All I knew was that it wasn’t Bubba Powell, my brother-in-law, or so I hoped.
Doggone It sent me to the swamp, introduced me to Oliver the ghost dog, and plugged me in to a gruesome double murder on a movie set. I don’t care if I ever see any movie people again.
Dadgummit was supposed to be the best vacation ever, but immediately I was drawn into crime consulting. There were so many interesting things about those Georgia mountains, including people who stole energy from others aka energy vampires. My best friend came home with a boyfriend, and I met a Cherokee man with a similar skillset as mine.
Confound It brought that man to my home and both of us were drawn into the death of a meth cook, a single mother trapped in a bad lifestyle. Sam Mayes made an indelible impression on me, and the attraction went both ways.
Dreamed It haunts me to this day. A serial killer dumped one of his victims in our county. Soon a teen went missing, and we worried that the serial killer snatched her. My love life took a wonderful turn. Mayes proposed, and we married.
And now, here we are at All Done With It. A shadow entity invades a friend following a jogger homicide in the swamp, friends disappear, and I am expected to solve those crimes without dreamwalks. Holy moly! That’s not all. A hurricane keeps the midwife away, and an evil entity bids for world domination. Worse, the June heat feels like August because I’m 9-months pregnant. Things look dicey at best.
This last year and a half feels surreal. I’ve learned so much, and oh, the things I’ve seen. Thank you, readers, for being part of this epic dreamwalking journey and I hope you’ll read my latest adventure.

A Jane Doe jogger homicide near the swamp mystifies Dreamwalker Baxley Powell. The petite woman carried no ID, and no one recognizes her. Worse, a shadow passes from the body to a deputy, rendering him unconscious. The deputy and the corpse are dispatched to the hospital and morgue, respectively.
With summer heat and pending childbirth on her mind, Baxley’s dreamwalks into the spirit world fail to yield leads, frustrating Baxley and her deputy husband, Native American Sam Mayes. Days later, Jane Doe’s description matches a missing Mississippi woman. Turns out, her new husband is missing too. Jane’s sketchy brother-in-law and her aunt arrive, full of secrets. At Jane’s campsite, the team encounters a terrifying anomaly, nullifying Baxley’s senses. With such danger present, they must protect their unborn child. No more dreamwalks will occur until Baxley gives birth. When her friend Bubba Paxton vanishes, Baxley sights him in a mirror, trapped between worlds with other souls. Meanwhile, the shadow invades other hosts, demanding to see Baxley. Mayes and Baxley ignore the shadow as they rescue Bubba, untangle the Jane Doe case, and handle missing persons reports. To free the trapped people, Baxley must outwit a powerful foe. Can she stop this super villain before he steals her soul?
In this 7th Dreamwalker Mystery, female sleuth and psychic crime consultant Baxley Powell works a homicide case that leads straight to an evil force in the spirit world. The stakes? Her soul, her unborn child, and humanity’s freedom.
