I'm currently reading A Pocketful of Lodestones by Elizabeth Crowens. This book is the second Time Travel Professor Book and was released August 1, 2019.
Music professor John Patrick Scott happens to be visiting his hometown in Scotland when World War I breaks out. Unable to return to his life in Germany he decides to enlist. Life as the lowest soldier, with a commanding officer who has it in for him, is not what the concert pianist had imagined. In fact it's nothing like his good friend Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's exploits in the Boer War. Spending his days digging latrines and burying the dead, Scott spends his time on night watch continuing his psychical experiments. Going back in time, visiting past lives, he tries to discover just why his sergeant hates him so much. He also tries to use his special abilities to help his platoon, even if it's only telling them stories from his special red book. Will his abilities help him survive the war, or merely showcase just how different he is from his fellow soldiers?
